At the Cairns Hospital, the Little Star Beads program is offered to children, and their parents, who receive treatment in the Oncology and Non-Oncology Infusions Ward. We have teamed up with the staff of the Paediatric Infusions Clinic to offer the program to their regular patients.

Children are wonderfully resilient and often, at these times, their courage and strength are awe inspiring but dealing with these procedures is never easy for them or their families.
With each new bead your child will add their beads to their string and as time goes on the string will help them to tell the story of their own medical journey and re¬mind them of their wonderful resilience. It will be a lovely keepsake into the future.
